LinkedIn Webinar Campaign
From LinkedIn content to 56 webinar registrations, 120+ paid community members and 100% attendance.
Background
The project was a webinar campaign run on LinkedIn for a Construction Executive Search Consultant who was preparing to launch a paid community for electrical construction professionals.
The webinars were designed to play a bigger role in the launch strategy.
It would give potential community members a way to engage with the client’s expertise and experience the kind of conversations the community would offer before being asked to commit to a paid membership.
The challenge
There was one important audience challenge.
The client’s existing recruitment business served construction companies looking to hire talent. These companies were her direct commercial clients.
The community, however, was designed for a different segment of the market: electrical construction professionals and workers, including electricians and other blue-collar professionals.
Some already followed her content. Some knew her through the industry or had previously interacted with her through recruitment. But they weren’t her traditional customer base.
So, while we had access to an existing audience and industry network, we couldn’t assume that familiarity would automatically translate into webinar registrations or, eventually, paid community membership.
The campaign needed to make the webinar relevant to a new ICP within the broader electrical construction market.
The goal
The goal wasn’t simply to promote a webinar.
We needed to attract the right people from a broader market, create enough relevance around the topic and give them a reason to move from passive LinkedIn followers to active participants.
The audience journey looked different from the client’s existing recruitment business. For the community:
- Electrical construction professionals
- Relevant problem
- Webinar
- Community
This shaped how I approached the campaign. Rather than immediately announcing the webinar, I started with the audience and the problem they were most likely to recognise.
The webinar focused on healthy workplace boundaries and burnout, an issue relevant to construction professionals but not widely discussed within the industry.
The strategy was simple:
- Create awareness
- Build relevance
- Establish trust
- Drive webinar registrations
And from there:
- Webinar engagement
- Community interest
- Paid membership
The webinar was still the campaign’s primary conversion goal. But it was also designed to create a natural next step towards the client’s new paid community.
What I built
-
Week 1: Create demand around the problem
Before mentioning the webinar, I focused LinkedIn content on the underlying problem: burnout and the lack of healthy workplace boundaries.
The goal was to make the topic relevant to the community’s intended audience, electrical construction professionals, rather than simply promoting an event to the client’s existing follower base.
The client shared personal experiences of severe burnout alongside stories from other industry professionals who had experienced similar challenges. This gave the audience a reason to engage with the topic before being asked to register.
The content followed a simple progression: problem → consequences → need for a solution. The result was an active conversation around an issue the target audience could recognise in their own professional lives.
-
Week 2: Build authority and trust
Once the audience was engaged with the problem, the next question was: why should they attend a webinar led by this person?
This was particularly important because the webinar audience was different from the client’s direct recruitment customers. The content shifted towards the client’s personal experience and expertise.
Her own experience with burnout, including serious health consequences from overworking, gave the topic credibility that generic educational content couldn’t.
I also brought other construction executives into the conversation, using their experiences as social proof and expanding the discussion beyond the client’s personal story.
The goal wasn’t simply to say “I’m an expert.” It was to show the audience why this was a conversation worth joining.
-
Week 3: Turn attention into registrations
With the problem established and trust built, the campaign moved into conversion.
Instead of relying exclusively on direct “register for the webinar” posts, I used different LinkedIn content formats including polls, videos, carousels and text posts to continue providing value while introducing the CTA.
The key conversion asset was an interactive burnout quiz. The quiz used situational questions to help construction professionals assess whether burnout was affecting their work and wellbeing.
It created a natural progression: LinkedIn content → quiz → results → webinar landing page.
The quiz also created a lead-generation opportunity by capturing email addresses before participants received their results. I integrated TryInteract with Kajabi using Zapier so that the quiz could feed into the wider marketing funnel.
The campaign architecture
The campaign worked because each stage had a specific job.
-
Audience relevance
Start with a problem relevant to the webinar’s target audience rather than assuming the client’s existing followers were automatically the right fit.
-
Awareness
Create conversations around burnout and workplace boundaries without immediately promoting the webinar.
-
Trust
Use personal experience, expertise and social proof to establish the speaker’s credibility with a new audience segment.
-
Engagement
Use LinkedIn content and the interactive quiz to move people from passive consumption to active participation.
-
Conversion
Give engaged users a clear path to register for the webinar.
-
Community acquisition
Use the webinar as a deeper engagement experience that could naturally lead interested participants towards the paid community.

What I learned
The biggest takeaway wasn’t simply that LinkedIn can drive webinar registrations. It was that knowing your audience matters just as much as promoting your offer.
The client already had an established LinkedIn presence and a recognised recruitment business. But the webinar and community were targeting a different segment within the broader electrical construction market.
That meant I couldn’t treat followers as the target audience. Instead, the campaign needed to identify a problem that would resonate with the new ICP and build relevance before asking people to register. The webinar became the central conversion point in that journey.
